Vol. 129 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Local Authorities (Works) Act.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the amounts spent by each local authority to date on schemes under the Local Authorities (Works) Act, showing separate accounts for A. and B. schemes.

Records are not kept showing separately the expenditure on schemes under the Local Authorities (Works) Act designated type A. and type B. The particulars requested by the Deputy would have to be abstracted from returns relating to more than 15,000 schemes and I hope he will agree that the considerable time which would be involved in the preparation of the information would hardly be justified by the results.
