Vol. 129 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Offaly Land by Electricity Supply Board.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will ascertain from the Electricity Supply Board if and when they propose to acquire 30 acres of land from a farmer at Kincora, Ferbane, County Offaly, for the erection of a power station, if he is aware that the owner of the land concerned wrote to the board on the 18th February, 1952, and again on the 9th and 15th idem inquiring whether he could till and work this portion of land this year but that he has so far received no reply and whether in the circumstances the Minister will request the board to inform the land owner concerned of the position so that he can make his farming arrangments for the coming year.

I have no statutory functions in regard to the acquisition of land by the Electricity Supply Board for the erection of generating stations and any representations the Deputy may wish to make on the matter should be addressed to the board.
