The motion is carried. Deputy Dunne is suspended from the service of the House. Deputy Dunne will please leave the Chamber.

I do not propose, Sir, to leave the Chamber. I will follow the example given on other occasions to protest on behalf of the people who sent me here.

The Deputy is not entitled to speak.

I propose——

Deputies

Order, order!

You may shout but I am going to insist on my rights to protest against the allotting of land to ranchers. I do not propose to leave the Chamber.

Deputies

Order, order!

The Chair will have to call on the Captain of the Guard to remove the Deputy.

The Captain of the Guard approached Deputy Dunne, who then withdrew from the Chamber.

Before Question No. 44 is taken, may I ask a supplementary on Question No. 43? Would it be possible to have the position cleared up for the House, and could we have the names of the migrants who got this land or who are about to get this land in the County Dublin as well as the acreage of land which they had in the West of Ireland before getting the alternative holdings in County Dublin? Furthermore, were those people allowed to keep a portion of their land in the West in addition to the fresh or new holdings in County Dublin?

It is not the practice to give details of these matters, but I may say that, generally speaking, the migrants in question have given up much larger holdings than they are receiving. The legal basis governing migration is that the commissioners should give at least the equivalent value to the persons who are being transferred and whose lands are being used for the enlargement of small holdings in the West.

Would it not be a more satisfactory solution to give equal value in money in order to buy these people out rather than create fresh congestion in other areas?

That is a separate question.

Is the Minister satisfied that local congestion has been relieved?

There is no local congestion.
