Vol. 129 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Offaly Drainage Schemes.

asked the Minister for Local Government if his Department has a proposal from Offaly County Council under the Local Authorities (Works) Act for the cleaning of a drain from road 158 (Monasterevan road) across the Cosh road to Clonbrock, near Bracknagh, Rathangan, which drains the adjacent lands and roadway; and, if so, if he will have this work sanctioned so that it may be undertaken immediately as it will benefit many local ratepayers.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he has under consideration a proposal from Offaly County Council for a drainage scheme under the Local Authorities (Works) Act, 1949, at Ballyhasson, Walsh Island, Geashill, County Offaly; and, if so, if he will sanction it immediately so that work may commence, as local farmers cannot avail of the land project until this work has been completed.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 45 and 46 together. No proposals on the lines referred to by the Deputy have been submitted to my Department by the Offaly County Council.
