Vol. 129 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Drainage of Buckleys River.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will sanction the proposal for the drainage of Buckleys river at Birdhill, County Tipperary, submitted by the North Tipperary County Council, under the Local Authorities (Works) Act, 1949, and if he will ensure that this work will be carried out as soon as possible, so as to relieve the flooding of the lands in the area.

The proposals of the Tipperary (N.R.) County Council in this matter are under examination in the Department, but even if they are found practicable no final decision could usefully be given on them unless they are admissible for inclusion in the new programme of works to be submitted by the council in respect of the year 1952-53.

Why would they not be admissible?

I am afraid I am not in a position to add to the information given in the reply.
