Vol. 130 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Medical Post-Graduate School.

asked the Minister for Health if he proposes to seek powers to proceed with the recommendation of the medical committee regarding the establishment, without delay, of a medical post-graduate school at St. Kevin's Hospital, Dublin.

I feel that the greatest immediate need at St. Kevin's Hospital is to concentrate on the further development of first class services covering all fields of medicine and surgery in the hospital and with this end in view I have sanctioned the appointment of additional permanent medical, surgical and other staff. The reconstruction, improvement and re-equipment of premises are also proceeding rapidly. When the services in the hospital have been further built up, I propose to consider again the establishment of a post-graduate medical school.
