Vol. 130 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Institute of Quantity Surveyors.

asked the Minister for Health if he will ensure that members of the Institute of Quantity Surveyors receive the same recognition from his Department as members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, which is an English body.

I have already received an application from the Irish branch of the Institute of Quantity Surveyors for recognition as a professional body from which quantity surveying personnel and consultants may be drawn. I am considering this application in the light of certain information which the institute furnished at my request and I hope to arrive at a decision shortly.

I should like to make it clear that both the bodies referred to by the Deputy are English bodies with branches in this country.
