asked the Taoiseach if he will state the number of pigs received by bacon manufacturers in 1952, up to the latest date for which figures are available, and the number for the corresponding period in 1951.

The total number of pigs received by bacon factories in the 23 weeks period ended on June 7th, 1952, was 250,143. The corresponding figure for the 23 weeks period ended on June 9th, 1951, was 220,254.
