Vol. 132 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fertiliser Credit Scheme.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is aware that many farmers are unwilling to avail of the fertiliser credit scheme on the ground that it would impose on his holding too heavy a burden of debt; and, if so, if he will have the scheme revised so as to allow an applicant to avail of it in respect of portion of his holding, or, alternatively, in respect of lime deficiency only.

Mr. Walsh

I am aware that the position is to some extent as stated in the first part of the Deputy's question. The operation of the scheme is being kept under review and the Deputy may be assured that his suggestions will be borne in mind.
