asked the Minister for Finance whether he will state (1) if all necessary arrangements are now complete for the erection of boat shelters and the improvement of the pier at Knightstown, Valentia Island and when work is to begin and (2) the present position with regard to the extension and improvement of the Reenard Point pier, Cahirciveen.

The necessary preliminary arrangements for the improvement of the landing facilities at Knightstown, Valentia Island have been completed and the work will be commenced within the next few weeks.

The question of carrying out improvements to the landing facilities at Reenard Point is still under consideration.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will make the necessary financial arrangements for the repair of the pier at Innisfallen Island, Lakes of Killarney, and for the erection of a small pier or slip at Gerahmeen, Upper Lake, Killarney, which are needed for the convenience and safety of tourists and boatmen.

Arrangements have been made for an engineer to inspect the landing places in Innisfallen Island and at Gerahmeen within the next few weeks with a view to ascertaining the nature and extent of the repairs required.
