According to the arrangement it is proposed to take Estimates for Public Services 1952-53, Vote No. 38 resumed, in Committee on Finance and then all the remaining Estimates including the Supplementary Estimates to be considered in Committee on Finance and reported; No. 4 Issue out of Central Fund in Committee on Finance; No. 2, Appropriation Bill, 1952; No. 8, Veterinary Surgeons Bill, 1952. The Motion for the Adjournment will be taken at 12 midnight.
Order of Business.
Mr. Byrne
On the adjournment of the House, can we raise the question of the serious plight of the unemployed in the City of Dublin? It is customary when the House is adjourned for a very long period that an opportunity is given to raise matters such as I have mentioned. The position is very serious in the City of Dublin.
I assume that the subject will arise relevantly on the Second Reading of the Appropriation Bill.
Mr. Byrne
To-day?
Of course.
Has any time table been suggested for to-day?
No time table has been arranged. It is assumed that the Estimate for the Department of Local Government will be disposed of in time to permit a discussion on the Appropriation Bill.
The House will adjourn until——?
October the 22nd.
I take it that as soon as the Estimates have been completed we will go on immediately to the Appropriation Bill, that on the conclusion of the discussion on all stages of the Appropriation Bill we will discuss the Veterinary Surgeons Bill, and that if the discussion on the Appropriation Bill lasts the House will close at midnight?
If the Veterinary Surgeons Bill is not reached by then I understand that it will be considered as unopposed business and taken after that.
