Vol. 134 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Donegal Seed Oats Supplies.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if, between now and next spring, he will consult parish agents in the Cloughaneely and Gweedore districts as to the desirability of having a supply of Scottish sand seed oats being made available to farmers in the area.

Mr. Walsh

I am satisfied that home grown sandy seed oats are as suitable for distribution under my Department's seed distribution scheme as imported seed of this variety. The views of the local officers of my Department will, of course, in accordance with the usual practice, be obtained before the details of the scheme are settled.
