Vol. 135 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fermoy Industry.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the cause of the delay in starting an industry in Fermoy, County Cork.

There has been no delay in my Department in dealing with any proposals for the establishment of an industry in Fermoy.

Would the Minister indicate when this industry will be given some bit of a fillip from the Department to start operations?

The Deputy will appreciate my inability to answer for the plans of a private group which is proposing to engage in industrial activity.

Is the Minister aware this is not a private group? It is within the absolute province of Deputy Corry, who is one of the Minister's own Party.

The Deputy was down there for three and a half years tearing around but he did nothing.

I can assure the House that I made no false promises at any rate.
