Vol. 136 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Civil Servants' Pensions.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state what changes, if any, have taken place each quarter since August, 1947, in the total pension rate of any former civil servant who retired under Article 10 of the Treaty before 1929 and whose pension consisted of a basic pension and an element varying in accordance with changes in the cost-of-living index and in whose case the basic figure was £161 5s. per annum, or thereabouts.

The payments of compensation to civil servants who retired under Article 10 are governed by the schedule to the agreement set forth in the First Schedule to the Civil Service (Transferred Officers) Compensation Act, 1929. I am not prepared to give details of such payments.
