asked the Minister for Finance if the Estimates contained in his Budget statement last April in respect of Exchequer expenditure and receipts for the financial year 1952-53 require to be revised; and, if so, if he will state the revised Estimates.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Estimates of Receipts and Expenditure.
The answer to the first part of the question is "yes". It is not the practice, however, to publish revised Estimates in the course of a financial year. Particulars of actual Exchequer receipts and issues are given in the Exchequer statements published weekly in Iris Oifigiúil.
Will the Minister say if there is going to be a budgetary surplus or a budgetary deficit?
I would recommend the Deputy to read with some attention the recent statement of the Taoiseach on that matter.
That is one of the reasons I put down the question. I want to know does the Minister for Finance agree with the Taoiseach's Estimate?
