Vol. 136 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - G.N.R. Shareholders.

Mr. A. Byrne

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the position regarding the agreement between C.I.E. and the G.N.R.; and indicate if it is proposed to pay the shareholders of the G.N.R. for their shares at an early date; and, further, if he will state the cause of the delay in making the payments.

I am not aware of any agreement such as that referred to by the Deputy in the first part of the question.

The compensation in respect of the acquisition of the G.N.R. will be paid after the necessary enabling legislation has been enacted in the two Parliaments.

Mr. A. Byrne

When will that be? When will things be brought to a head?
