Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Superphosphate Imports.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state (a) the quantity of superphosphate imported by Comhlucht Siúicre Éireann on his behalf in 1950, 1951 and 1952; (b) the average price paid for this superphosphate in each of these years, and (c) the amount sold in each year and the average price.

(b) The average price paid c.i.f. was £9 9s. 6d., £11 10s. 2d. and £16 1s. 7d. per ton, respectively.

for which average prices of £9 17s. 8d., £10 9s. 2d. and £12 0s. 11d. were received each year, respectively.

With regard to (b) it will be observed that the average c.i.f. prices are quoted. Landing charges, port dues, carting, inland freight, storage housing and unhousing, bank and administrative charges are not included.
