Vol. 136 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Unemployment Benefit.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state the cause of the delay in paying unemployment benefit to a person in Athy, County Kildare.

As indicated in the reply to the last question, it was necessary to make a new agreement for unemployment insurance reciprocity with the Minister of National Insurance in Great Britain. The title to benefit in the case to which the Deputy refers depended on the transfer of British contributions. The claim is now in order for payment, and all benefit due to date will be paid on Friday.
