Vol. 136 No. 12

Fisheries (Consolidation) Bill, 1952— Referred to Standing Joint Committee on Consolidation Bill.

Seanad Éireann has passed the following Resolution in which the concurrence of Dáil Éireann is desired:—

That it is expedient that the Fisheries (Consolidation) Bill, 1952, be referred to the Standing Joint Committee on Consolidation Bills.

I move:—

That the Dáil concur with the Seanad in their Resolution communicated to the Dáil the 25th day of February, 1953, that it is expedient that the Fisheries (Consolidation) Bill, 1952, be referred to the Standing Joint Committee on Consolidation Bills.

What is the procedure for getting the Committee which deals with this Bill? Is it the Committee of Selection who appoint a Committee to deal with this type of legislation?

It is a Standing Order.

There is a Standing Committee?

A Committee of the House.

A Standing Committee, as opposed to an ad hoccommittee.

Question put and agreed to.
