I understand that three temporary officials employed by local authorities have been dismissed as a result of the discontinuance of the summer cheap fuel scheme. In most areas, the administration duties under the scheme were performed by officials of local authorities as part of their ordinary duties or part-time additional work and the question of dismissal would not arise.
The Minister said last week that there was a complaint of a whole lot of sackings.
