Vol. 138 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tory Island—Unemployment Assistance Payments.

asked the Minister forSocial Welfare if he will arrange to have all applicants on Tory Island in receipt of unemployment assistance paid weekly at the sub-post office on Tory Island, County Donegal.

All applicants on Tory Island in receipt of unemployment assistance are paid by postal order payable at the sub-post office on the island. I do not propose to alter these arrangements, which ensure that applicants are paid weekly or, where there has been interruption in the postal arrangements due to inclement weather, as soon as possible thereafter.
