Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Prices Index Numbers.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state the official indices for wholesale prices, retail prices, import prices and export prices at the following dates: 1st January and 1st June in each of the years 1951, 1952 and 1953.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to circulate in the Official Report a statement giving the index numbers of wholesale prices and of import and export unit values for the month of January in each of the years 1951, 1952 and 1953, and for the month of June in 1951 and 1952, as well as the interim cost-of-living index (essential items) for mid-February, 1951, 1952 and 1953, and for mid-May, 1951 and 1952, the nearest dates for which the latter index numbers are available.

Following is the statement:—
