Vol. 138 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Malahide National Schools.

asked the Minister for Education if he will state what progress, if any, is being made towards the provision of new national schools at Malahide, County Dublin.

I am informed by the Commissioners of Public Works that a contract has been placed for the erection of a new boys' school at Malahide and that work is about to commence.

A grant has been sanctioned towards the cost of the erection of a new infants' school and of the reconstruction of the existing girls' and infants' schools for the use of the girls.

The Commissioners of Public Works have yet to prepare working drawings and a specification and to have bills of quantities taken out before they will be in a position to invite tenders.
