Vol. 138 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Athlone-Roscommon Telephone Service.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware of the long delay that occurs in the telephone service between Athlone and Roscommon; and, if so, if he will state whether steps will be taken to improve the service as soon as possible.

Abnormal delays on calls exchanged over this route during the busy hours have been under notice and additional circuits for the route are included in the programme for the current financial year. The work will be put in hand as soon as practicable.

Does that mean within the present year?

Yes, during the current financial year.

There is great delay at present between Athlone and Roscommon.
