Vol. 138 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Spreading of Lime.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will alter the present rule whereby his Department refuses to allow lime to be spread on delivery to the farm in lots of less than 30 tons; and, further, if he will arrange that in future lots of five tons and over will be spread on delivery to the farm for the benefit of small farmers, such as those with 20 acres or less.

No regulations have been made by my Department regarding the spreading of ground limestone. Under the provisions of the ground limestone subsidy scheme the cost of delivery is met from State funds and the purchaser makes his own arrangements for spreading the material.
