Vol. 138 No. 17

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Prices of Live Stock.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether he will reassure the live-stock producers that the principle of a rigid link between prices for Irish and British cattle, sheep and pigs will be maintained in any adaptation of the live-stock schedules to the 1948 Trade Agreement.

The negotiation of a new annex to the 1948 Trade Agreement has reached an advanced stage, but is not yet concluded. It would not therefore be appropriate for me to make a statement to-day, but I hope to be able to do so shortly.
