Vol. 140 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fermoy Post Office.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will state when it is proposed to carry out urgently needed reconstruction of the Fermoy Post Office.

Fermoy Post Office premises have suffered from lack of proper maintenance for some years owing to the failure of the landlord to carry out essential maintenance works. My Department has made arrangements to purchase the property and the legal formalities in connection with its acquisition will shortly be completed.

Proposals for necessary repairs are under examination and the work will be pressed forward with all possible speed.

Can the Minister say whether the Post Office has yet acquired the premises?

I cannot say whether it has actually been acquired.
