Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kerry Schemes.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state what progress is being made towards the implementation of the following schemes: (1) Milltown water and sewerage; (2) Rathmore sewerage; (3) Sneem sewerage; (4) Ballinskelligs and Dungegan water supply; (5) Farranfore water supply; (6) Scartaglin water supply; (7) Barrnduff water supply and (8) extension of water supply from Glenbeigh to Rossbeigh.

The present position as regards the schemes mentioned by the Deputy is as follows:—

Revised outline proposals for Milltown water supply scheme were adopted by the sanitary authority last month. Details of the proposals are awaited. Revised outline plans for Milltown sewerage scheme have been approved, but the matter cannot proceed further until the water supply proposals have reached a more advanced stage.

Final plans and a specification for Rathmore sewerage scheme have been approved and the submission of a bill of quantities is awaited.

Revised outline plans for Sneem sewerage scheme have been approved.

The appointment of consultants to prepare water supply schemes for Dungegan/Ballinskelligs and Farranfore has been approved, but no further proposals have been received from the sanitary authority in regard to these schemes.

No proposals have been submitted in relation to water supplies for Scartaglin, Barrnduff or the extension of the Glenbeigh supply to Rossbeigh.
