Vol. 140 No. 3

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Testing of Milk Supplies.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether he is aware that a proper test of the milk suppliesat Cromane is not being carried out at the moment, and whether he will request the Dairy Disposal Company to arrange collection stops at Island Stook and the Chapel Cross, Cromane.

The answer to the first part of the question is in the negative. As regards the second part of the question, as the Deputy is aware, the lorry service in this area, which is now in operation only for little more than a week, is of an experimental nature subject to variation from time to time if it is found in practice that such variation is necessary. I would suggest to the Deputy that he should furnish to the Dairy Disposal Company the names and addresses of any farmers who he considers are not catered for on account of the present location of the lorry stop and I feel sure that the company will examine the whole position most carefully to ensure that the stop is arranged at the most suitable place for all concerned.
