Vol. 140 No. 5

Deputy's Explanation.

I would like to make a personal explanation to the House. I addressed a question yesterday to the Minister for Industry and Commerce regarding the operation of the Safeguarding of Employment Act in the Six Counties as it affects Twenty-Six County workers, and the last paragraph of the Minister's reply would seem to indicate that there was in my question an insinuation that Six-County workers should be debarred from employment in the Twenty-Six Counties. That is not thecase. I do not wish to convey that insinuation at all. As a matter of fact I am in favour of knocking down the barriers which exist between the Six and the Twenty-Six Counties, and I wish therefore to make it quite clear that that insinuation in the Minister's reply was not contained in my question.

Does that fix it up between yourselves, boys?
