Vol. 141 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Tipperary Bog.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that the improvement work being carried out on the Derryville bog, Power-Lalor estate, Thurles, by the Land Commission is being closed down with the work only partly completed; and, if so, if he will state why this is being done and a number of men thrown out of work needlessly.

The drainage work on this estate has been completed and work will be resumed on road construction as soon as the bog has dried sufficiently to permit of the work being undertaken. It is essential after drainage to allow the road site and the soil from the drains to dry out thoroughly before commencing on road construction.
