Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Motor Driving Offences.

Mr. O'Higgins

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state the number of cases since June, 1951, in which he remitted in whole or in part orders disqualifying persons from holding driving licences and in how many of these cases the disqualification was (a) for drunken driving and (b) for dangerous driving.

Mr. Boland

The number of such cases is 97 and of these 53 cases relate to convictions for driving or attempting to drive while drunk and 19 cases to convictions for dangerous driving.
