asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the amount received by the Exchequer in (a) income-tax and (b) corporation profits tax for the financial years 1950-51, 1951-52 and 1952-53 and the estimated amounts for the year 1953-54.

As the answer to the question is in the form of a tabular statement, I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to have it circulated with the Official Report.

Following is the statement:—

The amounts of (a)Income-tax and(b)Corporation Profits Tax paid into the Exchequer in the financial years ended 31st March, 1951, 31st March, 1952, and 31st March, 1953, were as follows:—

The estimated amounts of (a)Income-tax (including Surtax) and(b)Corporation Profits Tax to be paid into the Exchequer in the financial year ending 31st March, 1954, are £22,450,000 and £2,775,000, respectively.
