Vol. 142 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - F.C.A. and Forestry Employment.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he will favourably consider applications for employment at an early date from members of An Fórsa Cosanta Aitiúil in the forestry schemes at Glencar and Glenbeigh.

Recruitment of labour for forestry work is carried out through the local employment exchanges under arrangements which apply to recruitment for all subordinate positions in Government services. It would not be practicable to exercise a preference in favour of members of An Fórsa Cosanta Aitiúil in respect of employment in any particular area.

In the event of members of the F.C.A. being registered at the local employment exchange, will they be considered for employment on forestry schemes in these localities?

Yes, of course.
