Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Employment in Distilling Industry.

asked the Taoiseach if he will furnish any figures he has available in respect of employment of persons in the distilling industry in each of the years 1947 to 1953, inclusive.

I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate in the Official Report a statement giving the desired information.

Following is the statement:—

Number of persons engaged in the distilling industry at mid-October in each of the years 1947-1952 distinguishing salaried employees and wage-earners and average number of persons engaged in the first two quarters, 1953.
