Vol. 143 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Army Officers: F.C.A. Duties.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state whether consideration has been given to the question of increasing the travelling allowance payable to Army officers on F.C.A. duties; and, if so, whether any decision has been arrived at and the nature of the decision.

Officers of the Forces employed on duties with An Fórsa Cosanta Áitiúil use their private motor-cars for travelling on official duty, for which they are paid certain allowances. These allowances have now been increased to the same extent, and with effect from the same dates, as similar allowances payable to officers of An Garda Síochána, and payment at the increased rates, including arrears, will be made as soon as possible.
