asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will state the quantities and value of iron and steel hexagonal mesh netting and iron and steel wire imported by the purchasing section of his Department for the various Departments of State and other semi-Government concerns, such as the E.S.B., in the period 1st January, 1953, to 19th June, 1953, and from the 19th June to the 31st October last, respectively.

In the period 1st January to 19th June, 1953, 8 cwt. steel hexagonal mesh netting and 10 cwt. 13 lb. of iron and steel wire were imported. In the period 19th June to 31st October, 1953, 1½ cwt. steel wire was imported.
The total value of the imports mentioned was under £100.
