Vol. 143 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Baltimore Schools Shipyards.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will indicate the proposed programme for the Baltimore schools shipyards for the coming year.

I am informed by An Bord Iascaigh Mhara that one 50-ft. boat is under construction at their boatyard at Baltimore and when it is completed, probably in a few weeks, the construction of another boat of the same class will be put in hands. The subsequent programme for the yard has not yet been decided by the board but it will, of course, depend largely on the numbers and types of new boats required and the amount of repair work and servicing which may have to be undertaken.

Can the Parliamentary Secretary say what it is proposed to do with the school buildings annexed to the yard?

I would require notice of that question, that is if the buildings are not required for boat building purposes.

Does the Parliamentary Secretary know the yard?

I have been there.
