Vol. 143 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Westmeath Lettings.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will arrange that the letting of lands by the Land Commission in County Westmeath will be carried out in January instead of April in order to allow more time for the preparation of the ground for tillage, thereby increasing the prospects of better crops and a greater yield.

Every effort is made to let as early as possible in the season all land available for letting by the Land Commission. Such lettings are made in January where practicable but it will be appreciated that it is not always known as early as January what lands are likely to be available for letting.
