Vol. 143 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Corporation Temporary Staff.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that some time ago a committee of the Dublin Corporation recommended a retrospective payment of a cost-of-living bonus of £1 per week to temporary members of the voters registration staff of the Dublin Corporation, that a payment of 10/- per week only has been made to such persons; and if he is prepared to recommend the implementation in full of the committee's report.

The answer to the first and second parts of the question is in the negative. In so far as the last part of the question is concerned as stated in my reply to the Deputy's question of the 12th February, 1953, the rate of remuneration payable to members of the staff in question is a matter for the city manager and town clerk in his capacity as deputy registration officer.
