Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bank Advances.

asked the Taoiseach if, with reference to his reply to Question No. 22 on Tuesday, the 1st December, 1953, he will give in respect of the years 1938 and 1945 to 1952, inclusive, the total amount in December each year of bank advances within the State, namely bills, loans and advances to customers comparable with the total included in Schedule VI —bank advances contained in the Quarterly Statistical Bulletinof the Central Bank of Ireland for October, 1953.

I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate in the Official Report a statement giving the desired information.

Following is the statement:

Amount of bills, loans and advances to customers within the State on 31st December in each of the years 1938 and 1945-52, inclusive. The figures cover the eight associated banks under the Central Bank Act, 1942, and the National City Bank, Limited:—
