Vol. 144 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork City Gardaí.

asked the Minister for Justice whether he is aware that a large number of the Gardaí in Cork City are anxious to be paid weekly so as to make it possible for their wives to make purchases in the most economical way and not be confined to one or two traders who give them a month's credit; and, if so, if he will state whether he will arrange for a weekly payment of salary in those cases.

I am arranging to have the Gardaí stationed in Cork City paid weekly from the beginning of the next financial year.
