Vol. 144 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fermoy Post Office.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether he is now in a position to state when repairs will be carried out at the Fermoy post office.

Proposals for the repairs to Fermoy post office premises, including improvements in the official accommodation, have been agreed with the Commissioners of Public Works, and it is anticipated that the work will commence in about six months' time.

In view of the fact that these premises are really a disgrace to a bad landlord, much less a State Department, will the Minister do something in the meantime to remedy the worst complaints?

The Fermoy post office has been particularly on my conscience and I am doing everything to expedite the work.
