Vol. 144 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kerry Milk Supply Survey.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether he is now in a position to make available the result of the survey of milk supplies in the districts of Cromane, Caragh Lake and Kilgobinet which was carried out some time ago.

As the experiment initiated by the Dairy Disposal Company last summer for the purpose of testing the milk supplies in the Cromane-Caragh Lake area is still in progress, the answer to the Deputy's question is in the negative.

Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware that the result of the survey that I have referred to was not given in full detail to the Minister by the Dairy Disposal Company? Is he further aware that if the Minister had full details of the report available he would have no hesitation in sanctioning the operation of the travelling creameries to these districts and the initiation of a branch creamery at Kilgobinet? My point is that the chairman of the Dairy Disposal Company withheld certain information.

The Deputy, if he is asking a question, should not be pressing points.
