Vol. 144 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tobacco-Growing.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if, with reference to his reply on 16th December last to a question regarding tobacco-growing, he is aware that a number of farmers are now anxious to go into this industry but are prevented from doing so by the lack of modern type rehandling stations and curing barns; and, if so, if he will reconsider his decision in the matter.

I am not aware that there are farmers anxious to grow tobacco who are prevented from doing so by the lack of modern type rehandling stations and curing barns. I do not propose to reconsider the decision indicated in reply to the Deputy's question on 16th December last.
