Vol. 144 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cattle Progeny-Testing Station.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will consider establishing in County Kerry, say, on the Muckross Estate, Killarney, a progeny-testing station for Kerry cattle the progeny of Kerry bulls located at Castleisland.

Arrangements are being made for testing the female progeny of the dairy bulls at artificial insemination stations generally, and these arrangements will cover the progeny of the Kerry bulls located at the Castleisland station. I cannot, however, say to what extent the utilisation of central progeny-testing stations will be practicable.
