Vol. 144 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - South Wexford Beet Growers.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is aware that beet growers in South Wexford have been notified that a limit may be set to the acreage of beet they can grow for the Irish Sugar Company; and, if so, if he will make a statement on the matter in view of his exhortations to all farmers to grow more beet.

The arranging of contracts for the growing of sugar beet is a matter for Comhlucht Siúicre Éireann, and I am not prepared to intervene.
