Vol. 144 No. 7

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Dromore River Drainage.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state what progress has been made to carry out the drainage of Dromore River as requested in the resolution submitted from the Monaghan County Council over a year ago.

The improvement of the Dromore River under the Arterial Drainage Act, 1945, can be considered only as part of a comprehensive scheme for the River Erne catchment. The Monaghan County Council have been so informed. In view of the present commitments of the Commissioners of Public Works as outlined by me to the House on 22nd October, 1953, it is not possible to say when such a scheme can be under taken.
