Vol. 144 No. 7

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Supplies of Fish to Local Authorities.

asked the Minister for Health if he will state the quantity and value of imported fish supplied to local authorities for the year ended December, 1953.

The information requested is not available in my Department. It would be necessary to have the accounts of each local authority examined to determine the total quantity of fish purchased during the year, and it is not certain that such examination would reveal the extent to which imported fish was purchased. I consider that the expenditure of time and money which such an examination would involve would not be justified.
