Vol. 144 No. 7

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Filleters' Wages.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is aware of the disparity in wages paid to filleters by An Bord Iascaigh Mhara at Killybegs and Dublin inasmuch as the former are paid only £2 10s. per week and the latter receive £6 15s. per week; and, if so, if he will take immediate steps to have the position remedied.

The recruitment and remuneration of staff employed by An Bord Iascaigh Mhara is a matter for decision by the board under the provisions of the Sea Fisheries Act, 1952, and is not one in connection with which any function rests with me under the Act.
